The Blue Falcons came into play on Sunday with the best record and goal differential in the league and showed why.  They were a speedy, organized bunch who kept us busy the whole game.  We kept it close and trailed 5-2 at half but never got closer.  Goalie Robert Porter had probably his best game of the season but the rest of the team missed some chances and could not cash in on what was a pretty well played game on our part. 

In a return to form, the Devils cashed in goals from 6 different players on the way to a much-needed 7-4 win.  John Zuniga led scorers with 2 goals and an assist and goalie Robert Porter kept the speedy Flames quiet with a number of great saves.  Notably, this was the second straight game that the Devils lost a player early to ejection, this time Chris Schwartz was ejected for an incidental high-sticking call which drew blood.   

Simply put, the Devils were slaughtered by the newly loaded Farmer's Insurance team by a healthy 12-4 score.  Although the first part of the game was spent worrying about the latest addition to the Farmers, one of the top college ice and (in-line) players in the area, the game was close at half, with the Devils trailing by 5-4.  A quick double-minor and ejection penalty at the start of the second half of Charlie Heine seemed to turn the tide and the game quickly got out of hand.   Hopefully this was a lesson to those Devils!

The Spring season got off to a bang with a game against the defending champs, the Lucky's.  We got off to a solid start and had a 2-0 lead after Chris Schwartz, the newest Devil, blasted a slapshot in from 25 feet out.   Playing in his first game for his new team, Chris posted a hat trick.  We are thrilled to have him on board!  Both teams traded goals to the break and the Devils led 4-2 at the half.  Goal scoring in the second half went the other way unfortunately as the under-manned Lucky's clawed back into the game and tied it at 5-5 with a minute to go.  The Devils took the lead on a rebound goal with just under a minute to go, but the Lucky's managed a tying goal with 10 seconds left on the clock.  It was a great game from both sides, a sign of future games to come.
